All teams will have a 5 man IR and 10 man practice/taxi squad. The rules for the IR/PS are as follows:
IR/Suspended rules
Practice Squad Rules
How does Practice Squad poaching work?
Owners will be able to poach PS eligible players (non IR/SUS players). The procedure is as follows:
* If a poach attempt is made after kickoff, the owner of the player must respond within 48 hours with their intention to move the player to their active roster or trade with another team.
* If you will be away for an extended period of time (more than a day or two) and can't check in regularly, please let us know before you leave. We will temporarily pause PS poaching for your team so you aren't cleared out while on vacation.
* Owners can attempt to poach 1 player from each practice squad per week, as long as they have enough picks to compensate the other owners.
- ex: If you don't have a 1st round pick in 2018, you cannot poach a 2017 1st round pick.
If you have 3 2018 1st round picks you can attempt to poach 3 2017 1st round picks.
* Any player that is poached must be added to the poaching team's active roster. The player cannot be poached and added to another practice squad.
* If you poach a player taken in rounds 6-10 of the 2017 draft, you must compensate the owner with a 5th round pick. All future drafts will be 5 rounds, so a 5th is the lowest form of compensation.
*If a practice squad player is cut before the end of their rookie season, any owner can sign that player to their practice squad.
IR/Suspended rules
- Suspended players or players on PUP,IRD, or IR can be moved here at any time
- Suspended players must be promoted to the active roster after they have finished serving their suspension
- Players on IR/SUS cannot be poached
Practice Squad Rules
- Rookies that are drafted/picked up during their rookie season are Practice Squad (PS) eligible. Players cannot be added to the PS after they complete their rookie season
- PS Eligible players can be poached as long as they aren't on IR/SUS
- Eligible players can stay on the PS their first 2 NFL seasons
- After 2 seasons, PS players must be moved to the active roster, traded, or cut
- Players can be promoted from the PS to active roster at any time. Simply remove them from "TAXI" and place them on the bench.
- Once promoted to the active roster, a rookie cannot be moved directly back to the PS. The rookie must be cut and pass through waivers if the owner wishes to place them on their PS again.
How does Practice Squad poaching work?
Owners will be able to poach PS eligible players (non IR/SUS players). The procedure is as follows:
- The owner must make a post on the fleaflicker message board, as well as the Facebook group, stating which player they are poaching from the team's practice squad.
- ex: Team A is poaching Player 1 from Team B's practice squad - Team B has 48 hours to:
- add the player to their active roster
- work out a trade to move the player - If the player is not moved to an active roster or traded within 48 hours of the initial posting, the player will be added to the poaching team's roster. The poaching team must compensate the owner with a same-round pick in the next rookie draft.
- ex: 2017 1st round pick Leonard Fournette is poached from Team A's practice squad by Team B. In exchange for Fournette, Team B must give Team A a 2018 1st round pick.
* If a poach attempt is made after kickoff, the owner of the player must respond within 48 hours with their intention to move the player to their active roster or trade with another team.
