Our league is currently made up of 12 teams, divided into 4 divisions with 3 teams each. This made for some very strong and very weak divisions, which resulted in some deserving teams missing the playoffs, while other weaker teams made it by default.
My suggestion: Decrease the number of divisions, but don't get rid of them completely. I think 2 divisions of 6 would be best, but 3 divisions of 4 could work too.
What are your thoughts? Should we keep things as is? Should we decrease the number of divisions we have, or get rid of them altogether?

If we keep divisions, I don't think they should impact who makes the playoffs. Really it should be based solely on record or points/point differential, if we ever went that route. Arbitrarily winning a division shouldn't bring with it a playoff spot if the team hasn't earned it record-wise.

what ever works so people who do really well don't get screwed at the end of the season to people who are like 2 and 12. I like 2 divisions.

I'd be ok with 2 divisions of 6 and the top 3 in each division make it into the playoffs. 3 teams per division wasn't my favorite. Or I'd like just one division and the top 6 teams made it in.

It is contrary to the nature of the actual NFL where NFC/AFC have equal amounts of teams in the playoffs, but I like the idea of two divisions of 6 each. 1st place obviously from each, 2nd place, but I like having the #5 & #6 teams as best overall. SO, you could have an imbalance, but the 'better' teams make it in.

I would prefer two divisions of six.
