Is there any interest in adding a practice squad to our rosters? If so, how would you like to see it implemented?
Set up Not only does Fleaflicker allow 40 man rosters, they also give us enough room for up to 20(!) players on IR. Even better, the requirements to place a player on IR can be adjusted, or turned off altogether. If we switch it off, basically it allows you to put an additional 20 players, regardless of health status, on your roster.
My proposal: If we were to do a practice squad, the players would be housed in the IR section. We could do up to 15 players, as well as bump IR up to 5 (from 4 in previous years). Each year as we draft, your players could be placed on the practice squad. They can stay there as long as you want, but once they are activated they cannot be sent down to the practice squad again. If they are cut from a team, they are treated like any other Free Agent.
There are many things to consider if we incorporate a practice squad. How many players are allowed on the PS? Which players are eligible for the practice squad: rookies only, or vets as well? How long can the players stay on our practice squad: 1 or 2 years, unlimited, or somewhere in between? What do you guys think?

I like this but we would need to do a draft style for this in beginning.

In another league I'm in, the practice squads can be poached by posting on the forum and giving that owner 72 hours to respond by activating the player, trading the player to the team poaching, or, if they don't respond, the poaching team gives the team poached a draft pick 1 round higher than the player was drafted. First round picks can't be poached. This is fun because it makes you check the forums at least once every 3 days to see if you're getting poached or not. Keeps things active.what would you think about something like this?

I like the Practice Squad idea. 10 players max, with the ability to poach players. I'd prefer consequences if teams abused the practice squad.

If we ever do a redraft you have to have a certain amount of keepers regardless. This started as a dynasty, to complete redraft, that is a slap in the face IMO.
I am in favor of the PS.
However, we should implement a steal rule. Someone can post to steal your PS player. There is a certain time limit you have to respond. This ensures people stay active on the board. You don't check in, you can lose prospective players.

12 teams and 40 roster spots, I don't see the absolute need for a practice squad with 10 players. Maybe with 5 and they have to be first or second year players?
